On Monday, the Kano State Government requested President Bola Tinubu to move the deposed 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, out of the state.

The state government emphasized that Bayero’s presence in the state poses a threat to the peace and stability of the people of Kano.

Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Abdussalam addressed the media on Monday, discussing the ongoing chieftaincy crisis in Kano and explaining the government’s decision to reinstate and accompany the 16th Emir, Sanusi Muhammadu to the throne.

Abdussalam stated that the government had not received any court order restraining or ordering the maintenance of the status quo.

He apologized on behalf of the state government to the Office of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, regarding allegations that he provided aircraft to transport Bayero to Kano.

Abdussalam accused certain individuals in the All Progressives Congress (APC) of sponsoring protests against the dissolution of the emirates and the reinstatement of Sanusi Muhammadu.

He expressed concern about the implementation of the court order, as only one out of eight respondents, the Inspector General of Police, was served with the order. The Kano State Government, police commissioner, DSS, and NSCDC were not served.

Abdussalam questioned the motives behind the order and the involvement of politicians from the opposition in supporting Aminu Bayero.

He called for an investigation by President Tinubu, the Office of the National Security Adviser, and other relevant agencies into the situation and urged immediate action to relocate Bayero and remove him from the state, as he is currently a security threat.
