The National Anti-Doping Bill has been approved by the Senate, in line with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s convention against doping in sports.
This bill, passed for the third time, creates the National Anti-Doping Centre and adheres to the World Anti-Doping Code.
President Tinubu had urged the Senate to review and approve the bill, stressing the importance of tackling doping in sports.
The passage of the bill is essential for Nigeria to comply with international standards and prevent repercussions in regional, continental, and global competitions.
