Operation UDO KA: Nigerian troops eliminate six suspected IPOB members in the forest.
Regarding to the killing of Five(5) soldiers in Aba.
Six terrorists believed to be members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), were killed by troops of the Joint Taskforce, ‘Operation UDO KA’, during a successful raid on their camp in Igboro Forest, Arochukwu Local Government of Abia State.
The operation, conducted on June 8, was aimed at apprehending those responsible for the killing of five (5) soldiers in Aba on May 30, and recovering arms and ammunition from the terrorist group.
According to Taskforce spokesman Lt.-Col. Jonah Unuakhalu, the troops encountered Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) during the operation, resulting in one soldier sustaining minor injuries. The terrorists put up a weak fight but were ultimately neutralized by the superior firepower of the troops.
Three locally fabricated Rocket Propelled Grenade Launchers, two locally fabricated Artillery Guns, dane guns, Biafran flags, and burnt vehicles were among the items recovered from the camp.
The Taskforce is urging the people of Abia State to continue cooperating with security agencies by providing credible information to help eliminate criminals in the state and the entire South-East region.
