Nigeria Minimum Wage
The minimum wage in Nigeria is ₦30,000 monthly, which can’t sustain a person for even a week, due to high cost of living.
The Government proposed a minimum wage of ₦60,000 monthly. Which is still low.
Labour unions decided to go on strike demanding a higher minimum wage, which is ₦494,000 monthly for Nigerian workers.
There is a nationwide blackout due to the strike. And the government is on a negotiation table with the union. Nigerians are hoping things turn out well for the country.
