Kano State Crisis: State high Court orders police to evacuate deposed Emir, Bayero from the State
The Kano State High Court, under the leadership of Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu, has ordered the Kano Commissioner of Police to evacuate Aminu Bayero from the Nasarawa palace where he is currently residing.
The court issued an interim injunction prohibiting Aminu Ado Bayero and four other dethroned emirs from presenting themselves as emirs of Kano, Bichi, Gaya, Rano, and Karaye until the motion on notice is heard and determined.
The order was granted following an exparte application by the applicants’ counsel, Barrister Ibrahim Isa Wangida, dated May 27, 2024.
The Commissioner of Police is instructed to take over the Emir of Kano’s palace and remove the 1st Defendant/Respondent from the premises.
The court has set June 11, 2024, for the hearing of the motion on notice.
