Finance Minister Wale Edun reassures public about minimum wage negotiations after meeting with Tinubu.


Wale Edun, The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the economy, reassured the public that there is no need to worry about the ongoing negotiations for the new minimum wage.

He made this statement after meeting with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Edun and his counterpart, Atiku Bagudu, had a meeting with President Tinubu following the President’s meeting with the International Finance Corporation.

Recall that The President had given the minister a two-day deadline to come up with figures for the new minimum wage, and he expressed his commitment to a minimum wage above ₦60,000 after Labour union halted their strike following the establishment of an agreement with the government to extend negotiations for a week.
